Insurance Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Insurance Accounting Manager to join our growing Finance team. You will lead accounting and reporting processes for Next Insurance while collaborating and communicating with cross-functional teams. Keeping an eye out for process and efficiency improvement, you’ll work with the team to create scalable processes for a company in hyper-growth. What You’ll Do:

Manage end to end month-end close process and reporting for Next Insurance US Company

Lead annual and quarterly statutory reporting/filing and compliance process

Lead internal, external, and DOI audit projects and prepare audited financial statement

Manage income tax, premium tax, and federal tax filings

Manage internal/external actuaries for IBNR evaluation

Manage risk-based capital need based on Carrier Balance Sheet

Support risk assessment project and agency rating project

Identify, develop and maintain procedures to improve efficiency and quality of financial functions and reporting for financial strength rating readiness

Implement and maintain policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP and SSAP

What We Need:

Public CPA firm experience

7+ years of insurance accounting experience with increasing responsibility, including managing direct reports and oversight of financial close/financial reporting process

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities often shift and juggling of multiple tasks is the norm

Expert knowledge of US GAAP accounting and statutory insurance accounting (SSAP)

Effective communication skills and belief that success lies in the details

Strong system skills with ERP systems as well as Microsoft Office products; NetSuite preferred

A high degree of reliability and integrity

Strong cross-functional collaboration with the ability to drive initiatives to resolve problems

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and/or Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate preferred
